Sex Therapy for Women in Tennessee, Virginia & Florida
Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy for concerns related to desire, intimacy, and connection. It is warm, practical, and completely shame-free. There is no sexual contact, nudity, or physical touch involved, ever.
What Sex Therapy May Help With
Sex therapy may help with low desire, sexual shame, difficulty with arousal, avoidance of intimacy, anxiety during intimacy, communication around sex, body image, and changes in intimacy after stress, trauma, motherhood, medical issues, or relationship strain.
Sessions focus on conversation, education, emotional support, and understanding what is affecting intimacy, then building practical steps that fit your life and your values.
I currently provide individual therapy only. I do not provide couples therapy at this time. Many women find that individual work meaningfully improves connection and communication in their relationship.
You May Be in the Right Place If...
- You love your partner but avoid sex or physical closeness
- You feel guilty because your desire has changed
- You feel pressure, resentment, anxiety, or shutdown around intimacy
- You want to understand your body instead of blaming yourself
- You want therapy that is warm, practical, and shame-free
What to Expect
In the beginning, I may ask about your relationship history, current concerns, stress levels, mental health, body image, medical history, and what you hope will change. You do not have to share everything at once; therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and respectful.
My training includes ongoing specialized education in sex therapy through the Modern Sex Therapy Institute, built on a clinical social work foundation dating back to 2011.
Who this may not be the best fit for
This practice may not be the best fit if you are seeking crisis care, court-ordered treatment, custody evaluations, emergency support, or intensive substance use treatment. I also do not provide couples therapy at this time; all sessions are individual.
